I have a few questions regarding obtaining a working visa. Any advice is appreciated.
1. Do you only need a police check from your home country? I have worked in many countries. Do I need a police check from all?
2. How recent does the police check have to be. I have one that is three years old. I assume that will not be current enough.
3. Does the medical check have to be done in your home country. Or can it be done in VN?
4. Do you have to process the visa in your home country, as is required with China visas? Or is it unnecessary to return to your home country? Do you have to do a border run, in any case? i.e. make a trip across the border to another country to validate the visa if obtained while in VN?
Thanks,

Get the police check in you home country. Nevermind anywhere else you've been.
I wasn't aware there was a health check accept for the top schools which will send you to it here.
Get yourself a tourist visa on arrival, and bring your documents. If your employer is good, they will take your documents and get you a work permit. |

For your 4th question. Yes, you will need to make a border run once the school is ready to apply for your work visa because it cannot be issued while you are in the country.
Most of our teachers come in on a business visa which allows them to work while the work visa application is on going. Once they get the green light from the immigration department, the teacher must leave the country and receive the letter of invitation while they're out of the country. They the come back in and are issued the work visa on arrival. Once they have this, they will receive a work permit ans residents card. |
