I have applied to different contractors. I was wondering if someone can tell me how long does it take from submitting your application to receiving a contract offer. A month? Two months? Raytheon, BAE, Vinnell, etc. |

"etc."? Methinks a whiff of "Odeur de Troll" upon le naseau. O.K., I'll bite, name "etc" contractors. |

You're assuming that you will receive an offer. That's certainly not a given under any circumstances, and particularly not in cases when the applicant is a troll. |

NNES or undereducated NES. I've heard worse in parts of the US. |

Ability to speak Standard Arkansas Redneck can be a distinct advantage on some of those military contracts, where many of the "good old boys" hail from that part of the world.
In this case I suspect a troll - the same one who has been bombarding the forum with multiple inquiries of a similar nature. |

This question is like asking "how long is a piece of string." You need to get an interview first, which is where you'd ask about hiring timeframes. |

The Trollish OP shows the same inability to use an Indirect Question as all those other trolls. Must be the same one.
Example
What is that ? (Direct Question.)
I want to know what that is. ((indirect Question)
" I was wondering if someone can tell me how long does it take"
the error is common amongst poorly educated native Speakers and also among Non-native speakers. |

A contractor for BAE took 3 and a half months from application to starting the job.
BAE are startlingly incompetent, beyond belief in some cases.
Don't hold you breath. Persistence is key, if you really want it. |

Ahhh!!! The classic VS question: "How long is a piece of string?"
Designed to imply the hopelessness of answering a question to which there is no answer!
Well done, Weed-hoppa!
But I, izmigari, have figured out the answer! (Drumroll, please...)
Exactly twice the length from one end to the centre.
(Please hold your applause until I have left the building.) |

Both NS and I use it all the time... because it is so appropriate. And neither of us was the first.
