Hi,

Would like some up to date info on university teaching on Phnom Phen (job prospects, salaries, universities to apply to/stay away from). I have an MA TESOL and 25 years teaching experience in SE Asia, the Middle East, Europe.

Jeff

You can find unis listed here:

http://yp.com.kh/search?q=universities

and here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_universities_in_Cambodia

Apparently some of the better ones are:

Royal University of Phnom Penh, University of Cambodia, Cambodian Mekong University, National University of Management, University of Phutisastra, Limkokwing University and Norton University.

Many don't hire foreign teachers, but some are starting to. Limkokwing is apparently decent to work for (though not so in KL, going by what people say online).

PUC is alright but pay isn't great. RULE is good but only two courses run at the moment (and I'm working the English teaching part).

Does a person have to physically show up and apply or can they apply online?

Each individual job ad should tell you how to apply.

Also look at higheredjobs.com, TESOL.org, and if you're American, the State Department's English Language Fellow Program.
