Hello,
Does an MA in language pathology hold any weight in Saudi Arabia?
Plus eight years experience in Korea and Japan.
Thanks,

Speech-language pathology could be a tough sell for teaching English at the tertiary level as a direct hire since it primarily deals with the treatment of speech/language and hearing disorders rather than the acquisition of a foreign/second language. In other words, employers may not see it as related to TEFL. Also, it's unknown if there's a market for something like accent reduction services in KSA in general. Regardless, you could still get teaching work as long as you have relevant TEFL experience and a valid TEFL cert. But the employer will likely be a contracting company.
However, if you had clinical experience and licensure in speech pathology for k-12 schools, you might be able to work as a speech pathologist in a western-accredited private school (for English-speaking expat children). |
