Just trying to take a shot here and see if anyone has heard of it or been there.
Doesn't seem to be much online about it.
They pay is 8000AED. I don't know if that's low for Dubai, but at least it might help me get a foot in the door in Dubai/teaching the subject I studied in university as I am not certified as a teacher in Canada. How much of this can I realistically save? with and without an entertainment budget? |

Even if the school provides free housing, that 8000AED is still very low; you won't be saving much of anything. Plus, it will be near impossible for you to move out of that teaching position without being licensed/certified. See the thread a bit below yours, "Nationwide teacher licensing scheme delayed." |

A truly awful offer. 20k plus a flat is the absolute minimum. |

That's not realistic given the OP's minimal qualifications. |

I'm not really entry level, as I do have a CELTA and a few years of teaching experience, but yes, I know without a teaching certificate or M.A. I'm not going to have the pick of the best jobs in the middle east.
When I compare the numbers, 2,700 CAD per month isn't that bad, compared to salaries in Asia, although I suspect what you're trying to tell me is that the cost of living in Dubai is such that it's barely enough to live on.
There are 2 big positives for me though, first is that I'm pretty functional with Arabic so I won't be lost all the time as I would be in China. I suppose that socially though I would be just as isolated. |

You might read up on the UAE and expensive Dubai.
Although Arabic is the official language, it isn't a plus since English is widely spoken due to the country's multinational population. |

No she means from the Phillipines and China and the various countries under the heading MENA, North America, Europe, the Antipodes, South Africa...
and, of course, the sub-continent.
