In what anthropologists used to label "traditional societies" it was conventional for people to acquire names based on attributes or achievements. Hence "Ragnar Hairybreeks", "Thorfin Skullsplitter" or "Dances with Wolves".

My name is now 'Scot Nine Toes'. Diabetic foot ulcer led to bone infection and the surgeon's knife.

And then two days after discharge from hospital for the toe amputation I had a heart attack !

This could be a conspiracy.

Quite clearly I am a victim of the same gang that bumped off JFK and pretended to land on the Moon.

I am now very careful about answering my door. I have employed a food-taster. Very helpful she is too.
