Hey Everyone,
So after a year of being on these boards, I'm finally looking for jobs. My preferred destination on the mainland is Shanghai, so I'm wondering if some of you guys could tell me what the contract bare minimums are that I should accept? For example, are contracts that don't provide housing allowance ever worth it? What is the minimum salary one should expect? WHat's a reasonable amount of teaching hours per week?
I know there is a contract sticky here, but there hasn't been a meaningful post in that sticky for more than 10 years so I doubt anyone ever checks it.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I think you need to clarify if you are looking at the public system in which case you will get the basic SAFEA conditions.
The language school sector will have multiple approaches but I expect chains - Disney, EF etc will have the same basic across their various branches.
Good luck with the job. |

For Shanghai one of my main concerns would be that the accommodation was included, otherwise you could end up with a massive huge started up bill of some 4-5000 USD at least. |
