I am switching from one Chinese public university to another. The residence permit for one ends in July, but I think other schools typically start in Sept. I can find a place to stay during that time, but I am concerned about the visa or residence permit during that time. Do schools typically allow people to switch from a residence permit at one school to a new resident permit at another school, without leaving the country for a whole 1-2 months vacation? |

I have changed schools over the Summer several times. Every time the new school coordinated with the former school so that I had uninterrupted residence permits. I also moved to the new schools early, and never had to find a different place to stay in the interim. Why find a different place to stay when the new school will allow you to move in early to avoid losing you ? |

The FEC licenses of public universities generally allow considerable privilege. Your new university might be able to get you a FEC and residence permit that goes for more than one year. |
