Hi there,
I was offered a contract to work as an ESL instructor for PNU but I am wondering about the 6 day work week stipulated in the contract? Do teachers really work 6 days a week? |

Definitely not! Are they paying OT? Sounds fishy and like something to avoid. |

See "Private sector to end 48-hour work week" (http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=102948). What exactly does the contract state in regard to a 6-day work week? |

My contract stipulated a 6 day work week with overtime, but I have yet to see anybody working any overtime yet. Especially at a University I doubt if you will work six days ever. I just can't see any students coming in on the weekend. Once you are here you will understand where I am coming from. A language school possibly if you raise your hand and volunteer on a blue moon, a university no. |

This is the first year PNU has contracted with QEHC (or rather, they had no presence at PNU last year so I am making an assumption here). You will not work 6 days at PNU. It simply isn't done! |

If PNU is anything like KSU, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday during exam times. Apart from that, you will be working a 5 day week. |

Perhaps the lead teachers work an occasional 6 day week at PNU, but I have never heard of a regular teacher doing so, and believe me, word gets around! |

It's a miracle the students turn up for exams, never mind on their day off! |

If they show up and are allowed to take the test they pass, if they don't show up, they don't pass. How easy can it get? |

So, does anyone have anecdotal experience about their actual work life with QEHC?
I first received an offer from, yet again, IGIT.
About 7 hours later I received:
Please send your resume and passport copy , degree and certificates.

Would be nice to hear someone whose completed a year contract under QEHC. |

One should steer away from QEHC once they lost the contract with PNU overnight teachers were asked to work under Al Hussan at KSU , some got put in schools over all it was a mess. The Saudi office workers were arrogant and rude had no consideration for the teachers who were foreign in the country , because they were afraid of the owner of the company who was referred to as the president of the company they used him as a threat but teachers didn't care who he was which came as a shock.
Generally it's a very unreliable company brought teachers in KSA on false hope , bad accommodation in a rat infested neighbourhood in riyadh , teachers constantly complaining to the university about bad treatment in the end some teachers took them to the labour board only to get what was owed to them.
Look else where for better employers leave QEHC quick |
