Does anyone know if the embassy in London issue work visas for the UAE? I received an email from them giving me an email address in the UAE which I think does the processing according to what their email said. They seemed to say they don't process the visas in London. What's people's experiences? |

This is an email I received from the consular section of the UAE embassy in London a few months ago: Dear sir/madam;

I have never heard of any teacher in the UAE getting a work visa outside of the country. (though there are plenty of scammers who will try to get you to send them money for this - you will be out the money with neither visa nor job)
In the UAE, the work visa is done by the employer after you arrive. Depending on the efficiency of the employer, it could take up to a month for all the steps to be completed.

This is exactly how ADU did it for me when I worked for them quite a few years ago. They sent me to Bahrain to get the visa a few months after I arrived. |

You got the proper entry visa in Bahrain (ie not a tourist visa that you get at the airport). The work visa was done in the UAE.
