What is the rest of the package? What about housing? flights? dependents? health coverage?

We are all English teachers here and I doubt that any of us have a PhD. But I would consider this salary too low for someone with an MA in TEFL...

Seems fairly average. Key point is the free accommodation. How about the paid vacation?

Dreadful offer. You'll barely survive with 3 kids.

Add 10 and you might JUST be OK but will save nowt with a family.

Although you never said that you had three children, as a school psychologist, you ought to insist that the person who offered that deal have their head examined! Shocked

In all seriousness, the pay is a pittance, and having lived in AD and having worked for one of the better employers before it went into its well-documented tailspin in pay, benes AND workplace experience (see ANY reference to HCT), the 3-kid school policy is a REAL red flag to me...unless it's to go to the New Indian Model School or something similar. Up to three round-trip tickets has in the past, been standard...but paid schooling for three is both cost-prohibitive and unheard of...unless it's at the school you're employed by.

Without kids benefiting from the free schooling, the pay for a PhD. is insulting.

I just saw that ad. It's for a bilingual Arabic-English guidance counselor who holds a BA in academic counseling. No mention of an MA or PhD or degree in psychology.

Personally I would take the job.
You are single so you will save money and it is not easy find an overseas position these days.

I live in AD. I think he'll save very little. Go work for ADEC. I know a maths teacher who also does the counselor thing there and he's on 24 plus flat and flights.

I make more than double your offer and I'm not so well qualified.

I work in the OG game, so we're all worried about imminent unemployment.

Again, the job ad is clearly for a guidance counselor (i.e., to help with academic and career planning/goals) and not for a therapist:

Quote:
Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: School counsellor guidance Abu Dhabi arabic
Education Level Required: Bachelor

The OP is just posting out of curiosity (or to troll) and not out of a genuine interest in the position. Someone with a PhD in Psychology wouldn't even be looking at this type of role.

ADEC pay $3000-$5000. I was told this by a teacher recruitment company based in Dubai. And they don't pay holiday pay and if you get accommodation the salary is towards the least amount and rises if you don't get accommodation. At least this is what I was told by IP
