If you are in China on a business visa, you may not receive pay from a Chinese employer. The issuance of an F visa presupposes employment by a home country.
If you are asking if your home employer can pay you by depositing your pay to a Chinese bank, I'd say that you should talk to the Chinese bank. |

No I'm talking about working/teaching on a business visa (even if it is illegal)
Why shouldn't you get paid by a chinese employer if you work or teach on a business visa? They need the teacher don't they to continue teaching which you wont do if you dont get paid |

What are the circumstances of your business visa? Are you planning to come to China to teach illegally, or do you just need time to sort out some paperwork? |

Mr. Piano Man,
I have been reading the threads that you have been posting in China and Saudi Arabia. You don't have a BA or a teaching cert like a CELTA and it pisses me off that illegals like you attempt to teach which makes these new regulations a pain in the ass for a guy like me with a MA in ESOL, CELTA and a BA in Journalism with ten plus years of teaching experience.
Instead of trying to teach illegally somewhere, why don't you man up and get an actual degree or teaching cert and stop trying to work illegally?
Why do you want to teach illegally anyways? |

You answered your own question: it's illegal. |

But many teachers work in Saudi Arabia on business visas and I believe a fair few teachers work without the Z visa in china. I am looking at china because the pay is quite good (esp with the private rates on top) but I have a problem possibly in china as my Graduate Diploma isn't I think recognised a equivalent to a bachelors degree which it is over here in the UK. I'm already a qualified teacher from the UK (secondary education ) and I have a CELTA and have taught in Japan, the Middle East (Saudi business visa, and I got a visa for the UAE working at ADU in 2007) and I worked and got visas for Libya no problem.
It's just china won't recognise my diploma as equivalent to a degree (they just recognise BAs). I'm not going to do a BA at my age of forty something,
I'd like to work abroad instead of at UK schools murray and I have more than 10 years experience in the UK teaching at schools and 4 or 5 years total experience teaching EFL in those countries above. So why shouldn't I teach in china on a business visa. no one complains about people working in Saudi on them. |

I've just heard I am getting a 2nd interview with a language school in Gz. They know about my degree/diploma I think as I asked them about it. So will have to wait and see what sort of visa they offer or if they try and get me a Z visa with my diploma as equivalent to a bachelors. the pay is anywhere from 11k RMB to 16K plus the 3k housing. I will consider 15 or 16k (if I decide to go ahead and come over) |

anyway this thread is about getting paid on a business visa. Would I, does anyone know, be able to open a bank account in china on a business visa? and would the employer still pay up as someone suggested you might not get paid. |

mrpianoman is job searching, all right. Italy, China, UAE, Saudi, Korea, Turkey, Germany, USA, ....and all since April 9 of this year!
In the same time period, he held a job at a Berlitz in Italy for 3 weeks before getting canned (see the Italy forum). |

I asked my friend who works for the Agricultural Bank of China. She said that they don't check visas. |

Why did the BoC flip through my passport when I opened my savings account?
I assumed that she was looking for my visa. She could have stopped at the first page. That has all the ID info needed (along with the FEC).
I think that a cash deposit to a Chinese bank account with a business visa within would raise eyebrows. I don't doubt that the procedure for opening a bank account doesn't require the bank to check visas, but I doubt that a teller (or whoever facilitates the opening of the account) wouldn't want to see the visa to satisfy her own curiosity.
And thanks for the correction regarding the F visa having been changed to an M. I wonder why they'd change the nomenclature. |

I'm talking about the Agricultural Bank of China, not the Bank of China. At the Bank of China, China Construction Bank and China Merchants' Bank they check my visa every time and make a copy of it. I haven't done any banking at the Agricultural Bank of China for a few years, but my friend said they don't look at visas.
F visas still exist. They are for "[f]oreigners who intend to go to China for exchanges, visits, study tours and other non-business activities."

I taught at two universities in GD, with the proper Z visa and FEC and residence permit. In both cases the FAO went with me to the university's bank to open an account into which my pay was deposited. That's one of the benefits of following the rules and having the proper visa! |
