Ok, so I am new here and I am just finishing my Masters, decided to go apply to Saudi before entering into doing my PhD. I am just wondering if the 120 hour TEFL is very strict for teaching english, or can I pass with a 100 hour TEFL? (I am considering taking it in the upcoming month before I head out). Is this competitive enough? I am also Muslim and hence have no problem teaching in Saudi... considering other countries like Korea and China ask me to take off my hijab, so the Gulf is my only place.

Nope. The minimum is a CELTA or equivalent 120-hour, in-person TEFL cert course (with supervised practicum). Online certs and academic degrees with any online coursework aren't recognized and will get verified/authenticated for visa purposes.

OK if not in Saudi, where else in the Gulf or Middle East can I teach? I do not want to go outside of Muslim countries, considering the "Western" idea that Korea and China have.

Try Egypt or Morocco or maybe Indonesia for outside the Mid East to see if your academic qualifications and 100-hour TEFL cert are acceptable.

It was inappropriate. Because Saudi does not discriminate based on "religion", it's based on nationality.

I'm not engaging in a religious discussion. Islam demands equality in ALL occasions. Nationality should have nothing to do with how one treats another.

The treatment is based on the pay scale. If someone is flying in from where the min. wage is let's say 1000, and they are paid 1200 in their own country. Why would Saudi pay them more than in their own country? I think that's ridiculous. That's why it's based on nationality.

I'm not flying to a Middle Eastern country for the pay, but to be able to gain experience in an Islamic environment.

Your comment was inappropriate, because under your disguised sarcasm, there is the assumption that I as a Muslim couldn't possibly be white or from a Western nation and thus would be treated differently. And yes, this is actually a thing, it's called religious racialization.
