I'm posting this on behalf of a former colleague.
Can anyone chime in about private school prospects in Cuenca, Ecuador? Are there many ex-pats teaching those positions? Are there age restrictions?Thanks.

You don't see too many foreign teachers working in Cuenca. Although it is a huge hub for retired North Americans, there arent many jobs there that pay a lsalary that is adequate to live on. Pay there is quite low, and not many jobs. Even harder if you are counting on the job to get you a visa.
CEDEI does provide cultural exchange visas, but I dont think that they have a salary that would be easy to live on if you didnt have other sources of income. Most of us who are teaching and dont have other sources of income live in either Quito or Guayaquil.
