Best to register again anyway. Hopefully, it's as painless as it is where I am. |

Agreed, it is not much hassle really. I just thought maybe there was a change, but I doubt it as your 'form of temporary residence' and your 'residence permit' are completely different things. |

I've left town for over a week, but I never notified the PSB, and I never re-registered. I merely told my FAO that I would be gone. I never had a problem.
Your mileage may vary. |

Does anyone have experience replacing a lost or damaged accommodation form? (The one you get from your neighbourhood police office)?
I know every situation will be different, but were they ok with it, or was it a hassle?
Mine went through the washing machine and is a little white ball of muck now.
thanks |

Tell them what happened and they will probably laugh. They should have it on record, so they can just print one out. I have never had a bad experience with the register people. I have direct numbers to two who I have registered with before (slightly different areas). When my mom came to visit they were fumbling over how to be polite to her, it was a great laugh.
I had to register where I live now after the CCP Social Affairs guy spotted me. The place I lived before was a similar thing. I don't register unless told. My mother inlaw (Chinese) was told she had to register, too. Her reply was, I am registered, where I live.
It might just be I got lucky and they were nice, my wife said the people who issue the card giving her residence were not nice. |

Yep. I brought photocopies of everything but they didn't even need to see it. When I told the man the reason he went 'aha' as if to say "So, you're the one."
Ive lived in three places in China and my current police registration office so so much nicer than the others it's hard to believe. |

Does anyone have any experience or heard from others with experience on this matter as it applies to Guangzhou, or elsewhere in Guangdong province ?
Enforcement of mainland regulations and laws can vary greatly from locale to locale. |
