Hi there! I have been reading all of the posts and they are so informative I can't believe I didn't find it soner..kudos to all of you! You wouldn't belive how much this site has helped me!
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or worked for Grant Languages in Mexico? I want to go to Mexico in August, and I am torn between going to TEFL school in Guadalajara and going to work for Grant Languages right away.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey cybercutie,
I also am going to Mexico in August, but I don't know which city exactly. I have also been in contact with Grant Languages, but I feel like I can't make a final decision because I don't know how much I would really like to be in Mexico City, as well as I would need to have a 7:30am-3:00pm job lined up and to work for Grant in the evenings. Working solely for Grant Languages will not give you enough money to survive.
Grant Languages seems like a great place though. I have a couple email addreses of current Grant employees, but none of them have responded to my emails.
That's my two cents. |

I was thinking the exact same thing about Mexico City! I wanted to go to Queretaro or somewhere smaller, however, I thought it might be an easy route since they hire you right away...have you looked into any other possibilities? |

Hiyas,
On the Mexico City thing, I find just visiting there kind of intense. I always have an excellent time there, but am also always happy to leave. I was offered a job there recently, but it would have involved a lot of to-ing and fro-ing on the Metro, which while very convenient and cheap, can be a little harrowing and full-on at times.
I fell in love with Puebla the other weekend. Its got that big city feel, is only 2 hours from Mexico City and very handy for travelling to other places as it is a hub for lots of bus lines.
Just my 2 pesos..

There's a job posting today on Dave's for a job in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro. They are specifically looking for people with NO training or experience. While there are a lot of red flags in the ad for me (no mention of salary or hours, over use of words like amazing) it might be a good opportunity for those of you looking to get your feet wet. |

Hey guys, I checked out that opportunity, and I was even offered the position, however the only problem is that you have to pay for it and then teach for 10 months without pay. Also, you have to commit to 10 months. The first few months will be no pay and no accomodation, after January it will be room and board paid. Apparently it sounds like a good concept for a school, though. They incorporate workshops and Principal Centered Management or something like that?
Thanks for the tip, though!
