I know they depend on the province but does anyone have reference for taxes paid in China.
Last year, I was paid X per month and paid about 10%... I got a 10% raise... anyone know? |

Do a search for "China income tax calculator" and you'll get a link to a site that gives you a ballpark figure on how much you should be paying (depending on a few factors you can plug in). |

Yes, 10% is the bottom rate on monthly salary up to 15k p/m. You will find the increments by googling for it as 7969 says.
You need tax receipts and signed original contract of employment in order to remit money overseas through the bank of china btw. |

Search INCOME TAX here at Dave's. I started A whole thread on this a long time ago, complete with details, explanations and links. It should have pinned to to the top (suggested by others) but the pinheads who run this site never did. The original information there was current as of about 2011 and there have been no changes to China's income tax scheme for foreigners to alter that advice or the calculations since then. It's still good. I check my own pay from my waiban every month against it, and no discrepancies in the last 5 years. The so-called "social welfare" taxes may be a different story depending on your location and school, but that's a different thread. The income/withholding tax is national and uniform since 2011. |
