Hello!

I recently worked in South Korea at a Hagwon that I found through a recruiter. (Really enjoyed the experience)

I am interested now in working in Japan, but am new to the Japan process... do schools use recruiters here? Or do applicants usually apply directly to schools?

Any other basic advice on the application process as it differs from Korea would be helpful as well!

Thanks!

Best to get a job with one of the large chain schools as they will give you a work visa and get you into the country.. The typical job will offer fairly low wages (around 250,000 yen) and long hours (perhaps 12-8pm) but it gives you a chance to get going.. Check out Nova, Berlitz, Geos, Aeon, and Westgate (for short-term contracts).

Thanks for the advice!

Do you or does anyone have additional advice about where to apply for jobs in Japan? I am interested in working somewhere in Hokkaido/Sapporo but I don't often see such jobs listed on daves... any other helpful websites?

Thanks!
