can I get a Z visa from Korea? I am working in Korea and if I decide to switch to china, I don't want to have to go home to get a Z visa. Can you get a business visa too? |

If it's your first ever Z visa, I'm afraid you'll have to go back home to get it. |

I'd be very surprised if didn't have to go home to get this done. |

But you can get a visa for Korea in any country. Can't you get one in Hong Kong then? Can you get a business visa instead in any country? |

Just because you can get a visa for Korea in any country doesn't mean you can do the same for China. Different country with different regulations. I think it's pretty rare these days to get this done in Hong Kong. I did it in the past but we are talking about 3 years ago.
If it is possible then it would be through an employer with strong connections I guess.
Generally speaking I think you must go home. Talk to an prospective employer directly (that is assuming you can trust them) |

I think you can do it in Hong Kong, but only if you've had one before.
I'm almost certain the first must be done from home. |

You do realize that teaching on a business visa is illegal and you have no legal recourse if things go south.
Haven't you read previous threads about teaching on a business visa?
Suck it up princess and head back to your home country for the Z visa. It takes 4-6 weeks to accomplish. |

I wouldn't fly all the way back to the UK and then back to china for a z visa. Unless the school pays me upfront to do so that is. Plus do you have to get a medical in the UK or in china? UK medicals are extortionate something like 350 pounds. Nah, I'd rather just get a business visa like I had in Saudi arabia once and work on that in Guangdong on Shenzhen so I can go to HK every 3 or 6 months to get it stamped. But do you need to be sponsored by a UK business to get a visa in china or can you get a business visa without a UK sponsor? I have no idea what the requirements to get one are. I am ok at the moment where I am anyway but just incase I have to do a midnight flyer I'd like to know what my options are. |

Would it be possible for you to stay in Korea? What makes you want to quit your Korean job and go elsewhere? There's Korea, Taiwan, Japan and I assume Hong Kong, everywhere else is a ********. |

I don't want to quit my job in korea at all but we're down to about 10 students each 3 times a week all paying 130000won a week. The ceo also had a manufacturing business which he said yesterday is going well so we think he might be subsidising the hagwon atm although 10 students is still enough to tick over until xmas when all the students sign up while on holidays. Japan's ok but do yoy get free accommodation there like korea? So you reckon china's crap then do you? I think I'll just look for another job here if things turn bad. I think we might be alright though. Not 100% but still getting paid 2.3m won for 22hours teaching 1-4 students per class, 4 classes a day
