Not directly job-related, but I wondered if anyone here had experience buying eyeglasses in Moscow. I'm due to replace mine (new prescription) soon, and given the eye-popping cost of progressive lenses in the USA, I wondered if prices were better or worse in Russia, and if I should wait and do it there.

Anyone have a sense of the relative costs of glasses between the two counties?

If it's relevant, I have myopia and astigmatism and need progressive lenses. It's not an off-the-shelf-reading-glasses kind of prescription. The lenses alone cost around US$400 here.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
