Hey all,
I just spoke with the guy who does visas at the Mexican consulate in San Bernardino, California. He said that visas with a work invitation/NUT authorization need a letter from your local police office saying that you don't have a criminal background. This is news to me. Apparently they're not difficult to get, in fact my local police station has a "VISA LETTER" service, but has anyone had to do this before? It feels new.

Didn't you just complete the requirements and documentation to teach at a university in China? |

I've never heard that before either. If it's not something you are willing to do, try another consulate in California as they are fairly numerous.

In the past, different immigration offices in Mexico had slightly different requirements, so I suppose consulates could as well. |
