I am conducting a research on Saudi students' intrinsic motivation in learning English at the prey year level. I would like to ask those of you teaching Saudi prep year students if they would be willing to send the electronic survey I designed to their students. It takes about 5-10 min to complete.
If you do, would you kindly send me a private message so that I can send you the link?
Thanks a lot. |

Have you thought about demotivating factors that adversely affect Saudi students' motivation of learning English?
One of the demotivating factor is the foreign English teacher himself. |

'...a research'? Also admit to confusion regarding the sentence about who you are soliciting. I have colleagues who work with Saudi students abroad who are prepping for medical/health science studies. Is your research project only focused on in-Saudi or also outside the KSA.? |

.............the OP is a francophone and as such should be excused mirror grammatical transgressions !
A comparative grammatical analysis of French and English shows the fiendish complexity of the use of the articles in English ! |

Thanks for pointing out my mistake, although I really meant "conducting a survey" and maybe, unconsciously, some language interference happened, or maybe I was thinking at the same time about my research and the survey, hence the mix up.... Oh well... And yes thanks Scott for being understanding! And it is true that prepositions and articles are something us non-native speakers, even the fluent ones, struggle to use correctly in some unsuspectingly tricky clauses (tricky for us NNS. Plus French is more logical than English, there, I said it!).
Dr X, that is an excellent comment, and it's actually what my intent is. The survey aims at getting feedback on their motivation, and therefore, I will gain more insight on what makes them lose it, or not have any in the 1st place. I do agree that the teacher plays an important, if not crucial, role on that matter.
Spiral, yes, I am only interested in Saudi prep year Ss as my broader objective is to measure the prep years' (in)effectiveness in preparing Saudi Ss for their future studies. I thought it was clear I was asking prep year EFL teachers in KSA though |
