Hi guys,
I just found out I've been selected for the English Language Fellow State Department program! Fantastic news. However, I noticed that I have to fill out an extensive health verification form in order to finalize a position. My question is, if I state, honestly, that I've been taking an antidepressant for many years, will that negatively affect my standing? Will they decide not to give me the position because of this? If anyone has any experience with this program and its health form, I'd love to hear from you.
Thank you,
Teachy

If it is for work abroad then yes, anything other than "No" on the self report will usually get you tossed.

Mental health issues are often grounds for refusal by various immigration services to grant a visa or necessary work permits regardless of what the rules regarding discrimination on that basis are at home.

Depending on the meds you are taking you may flunk the medical exam as well (they can and often do include a drug screen).
