Hello all,
Basically looking to teach 6 months max in the K.S.A. and then leave, so working on a work visit visa does not bother me that much. Does anyone know any companies/recruiters that are offering to bring in single male teachers on work visit visas?
Regards,

Just check the job boards for any positions that entail a business/work visit visa. |

Thanks for the replies.
But those kind of offers seem limited. I was hoping if anyone knew of any recruiters/companies perchance?
Respectfully,

SBC are currently recruiting teachers (not sure if male/female/both) on business visas. |

Those job ads are limited (and inconsistent) because a proper work/employment is the norm in terms of bona fide employment and legal residence status.
By the way, be sure to read through this forum for threads about the pros and cons of business/work visit visas. |

Thanks for both replies....
It is not my intention to stir up the hornets nest, I know this is a issue which divides many on here, I am just seeking something ASAP.

if an employer offered a visit/business visa, and universities or anyone is happy to employ a foreigner, then, the status would be legal, as their names (university or contractor) will be linked to the foriegner as his/her sponsor.
For sending salaries overseas, one can either request the employer to direct deposit to the bank account in his home country ( minus the monthly expenses), or usually the employer arranges a letter to the bank for transfer.
Many of them also teach in the evenings or weekends in private homes, for extra income.
There are Plenty of fun gender-mixed activities on weekends to the desert, compound parties, and to nearby cities with like-minded people.
Big hotels allow non-related couples or groups to dine and wine.
But, going out of the country ( to Jordan or Egypt etc) will make the visa expired, and one needs a new visa to enter the country again.
For overseas trip, it will be best to time the trip with the visa run every three months, or the sponsor can arrnage in-country visa extension for another 3 months. |

You may have missed reading all of the original post here. The OP is only intending to work for 6 months and then bail out... trips are highly unlikely to be part of the plan.

All foreigners who HAVE PHYSICALLY BEEN TO the kingdom of Saudi arbia will never leave ( the job), except when they were forced to, even they had intended to work for a short period of time.
Even for 6 months stay, who would sit inside the housing alone while everyone else might be hopping to Dubai or Egypt during term breaks?? |

Uh... those with a biz/work visit visa that doesn't allow for exits/reentries. |

...those that figure that they can only take six months living there, but want to save some money... instead of blowing their whole 6 months of possible savings on one trip... if there is a break?
Those who can tolerate their own company and live for such a short time without pubs?

Veiled,
has anyone ever taken you for a free ride? why keeping it to yourself, you can always make friends wth locals, saudis or other expats like pakistanis, egyptians, etc.
There are always weddings, gatherings and parties.
Males would hang out with males, and females would be sent to female section, and hang out with females, dressing up, making up and dancing etc. Some even got marriage offers, and got married.
Some americans or british women maybe offered to join tribal gatherings or dance, etc. surely everything for free, feast, dress, ride, dance.
One can also hang out with ( non-colleagues) expats from other compounds and there are no shortage of gatherings and parties where one can feel like home.
If you go to KSA with the mind of making money only, saving up and shutting your self inside the room for 6 stright months or 2 years fearing to waste a dollar, that would be a shame.
Just remember, you will find Saudis very flexible and friendly. |

Dear all,
I did not mean it to sound as though I am, or would be, "a shut in". I do prefer to keep to myself though, as I had a bad experience/s with other fellow FT's in Oman, esp. some female FT's, that place seems to attract a lot of backstabbers! Thus I preferred to keep to myself, and if folk think me dour/sour....then that is fine by me!!
As mentioned, my intention is to save towards a CELTA, possibly in Vietnam or somewhere.
Kind Regards. |

It's unclear why Leno keeps promoting KSA as a hot spot for socializing, partying, etc. since that has nothing to do with the subject of your thread. Plus, it's doubtful he's an EFL teacher.
Anyway, your lack of a CELTA/equivalent in-person, 120-hour TEFL cert will further limit you in terms of current job openings in KSA that fit your short-term, biz/work visit visa interests. You'll still need to meet the company's requirements for the position. |
