Michael Turton suggests getting business cards made to promote yourself. but, it seems like it would be kind of pointless to have business cards if you don't have a phone or a snail mail address to put on there. is this something that usually happens after you get settled and are looking for a second job?

speaking of phones, are cell phones affordable? i've seen several people comment that phone bills are quite pricey. is that for both cell phones and land lines, or just land lines?

Michael is right. Even if your card just has an e-mail address on it, it will make a world of difference.

I would just create the name cards once you arrive in Taiwan with a cell phone. Not everyone will want to take the time to find a cybercafe in order to email you. I heard cell phones were cheaper in Taiwan then they are here in N America.
