|
|
Hello,
I was in china over 20 years, and went through a lot of visas - Mostly an F visa, as that is what the British Council advised at the time,so after I left the BC I stayed on an F until the 2008 Olympics when the prices went through the roof.
From 2009 onward I got a Z visa through my sister-in-laws company -Though I was paying money to the visa company that had originally take care of my F visa - "John" since 2000.I divorced in 2008,so naturally, I don't have a relationship with my ex-sister-in-law...though she did help with my visa( business chop) until 2013,the last time I worked in China.
Must I contact my ex-wife to contact her sister to send me a release letter? Is there no other way?
BTW, it is a release letter that is being sought, right?
Cheers,
Bernie/WW |

If your current Residency Permit has expired, I don't think you need a release letter. |

Have a look at recent posts about this topic.
If you do not have an active resident permit and have been out of China it should not be required, some employers may ask for one but it is not necessary. Just inform them the company has closed down or you no longer have their contact details, if they insist then inform them this is a new application and therefore not necessary. You will need the reference or certificates also detailed in a recent post. |
