I talked to a maid one day in a 7-11. She was Filipino. When I asked her about her schedule, she told me that her Taiwanese family only gave her 1 day off a month. the Taiwanese work these Filipino girls like mules, take their passports and bully and abuse them into submission. |
This is why so many of them flee in desperation from their abusive employers. Thousands are in hiding all across the country. |

Reminds me of that time a female Taiwanese politician showed up at a police station office and slapped a foreign professor in the face for his involvement in trying to rescue a Filipino or Indonesian maid from a tyrannical employer. Taiwanese politicians never miss an opportunity to bash the foreigner in public. |
I used to be sympathetic towards Taiwan due to the bullying they face from China. Now I don't care. If it happens, I will think of every person who ever gave me rude looks or said something to me that sounded rude, like an insult or something. And I will visualise them as casualties.
China can do whatever they want to Taiwan. At least that's my sentiment. |

What city is this in? How long have you lived in this apartment complex? That is terrible and there has to be CCTV cameras that caught the person with their pants down pooping in front of your door. |

Taoyuan. And I was in here for just two months. No issues with anyone until that time. Yeah there were cctv cameras. The guards just laughed at me. And the police also laughed. |

Is it? People rarely post here and many that do, myself included, are quite critical of the place. My advice is to use this incident to your advantage and leave the country in search of greener pastures. There's nothing sadder than seeing foreign Teflers stuck in a place like Taiwan when there are so many other better options around Asia. The only folks that talk up Taiwan are the ones that are married to local woman and are stuck there. |
I reckon the same could be said for the whole of the mainland as well. |

Which begs the question why do so many continue to come. Common sense would be to do a little research before going to a known risky place. But then again, it may just be part of the job and anywhere they go in the sinosphere they will face the risk of abuse. |

I tried to leave a comment in the comment section of this website with a Disqus account and I checked it 12 hours later and it was deleted. I basically explained what compromises we have in society. But no. Taiwan is heaven on earth. Can't be saying things like that. |
