I know that getting a Chinese visa/ work permit has become really long winded. How about work permit renewal? I have to get mine renewed soon with the same employer and was wondering what to expect. Are authenticated diplomas now needed for renewals too? |

Not yet, to my knowledge. I'd expect this to change at some point but as of now you can renew without having to resubmit your documents. |

Your employer should handle this. If your first employment permit is legit, you should have no problem.
Unless, of course, you work for a private school. Good luck. |

If you stay with the same employer - same school - same city - then it should be very straightforward. Foreign Experts Office rubber stamp the already approved certificate then your employer takes that to immigration with your passport - and they'll take 10 days to process the renewal.
If you change employers then you'll have to go through the entire process and everything that comes with it. |
