Recruitment process in University of Hail in Saudi Arabia
Hi Everyone! I have applied for faculty position in university of Hail in Saudi Arabia in last December for August 2017 session. Later submitted all my required documents according to the reply of the recruitment department. When I asked recruitment department regarding the status of my application in December 25th. They replied like this…………
Thank you for your recent e mail enquiring about the status of your application.
Please note that your application is still under consideration by the Recruitment Committee. You will be notified soon about the candidacy of your application.
Later I asked another time in January 2017 but they did not reply. Could anybody help me in this regards…..I have some queries
1. When (time) they used to select people and let them know if you consider August is the joining time.
2. If someone is not selected, do they let him/her know through email?
3. Does the delay of the selection process normal over there?

Move on and if you hear back great, you can ask away during the interview. But you'll probably find a better job before that.

There has been a complete freeze by the Ministry on recruitment for direct hire jobs at Saudi universities. Some universities have started to post adverts again but when the recruitment process will actually restart we don't know.

Even without this going on, I would estimate that you probably wouldn't be in Saudi before October, 2017. The second semester is not far off the mid-term break, and you will be needed for the new academic year after the summer.

HAIL is a one horse town with one street. Mountains are nice for camping. Kinda like an outdoor prison and the students make you feel like it is a prison too.

I rather liked it - but only visited for a couple of days. One of the attractions might be that Hail was the home of the Rashids - traditional foes of the Sauds !
