Upon completion of a public school contract should a teacher be entitled to a bonus? If so, how much bonus for 25 hours a week middle school with 18 months prior teaching experience.

Thanks 🙂 |

				| I've been offered bonuses in contracts for getting good evaluations, but they never materialized. If it isn't in the contract, expect nothing. You may get a little something at the end of the term, but don't expect it. |

				| I get full Summer pay as my contract completion bonus, which is fair enough imo. |

Is that a public school/university or a private school? |

Is that contingent upon your signing a new contract. I've gotten that when I started at a school in the spring and continued through the fall, and I've gotten that when I signed on for another year under those circumstances. |

Yep, so it's maybe a signing on bonus rather than a contract completion bonus I guess. But it makes a huge difference getting full Summer pay with housing regardless. It's something that should be factored in when thinking about overall package. Working 9 months but getting paid for 12 adds a lot of value when compared to private schools with little hols. |

Let's hope that this doesn't start a stampede for public university jobs.

You have to admit that living at a public uni is pretty simple. Work can be complicated if you work at two campuses, but other than that it's pretty nice provided one doesn't have a bimbo FAO. |

Public Primary School here Bud. The good public school gigs (primary/middle) are probably not so easy to find. I'm not familiar with the public uni side of things. |
