I've rec'd a couple of PMs asking which contracting companies staff teachers and where. I have no clue, so I've listed companies likely mentioned throughout this forum -- some may be defunct (or need to be).

Given the list below...

** Which company is presently contracted with X university/center? Are any of the following no longer on the radar? **

Al Hussan Training
Al Khaleej
Arabian Education and Training Group (AETG)
Education Experts (EdEx)
English Gate Academy (EGA)
European Centre
INTERLINK
International Co. for Education and Advanced Training (ICEAT)
International Group For Training (IGIT)
M-Trading
Quality Education Holding Company (QEHC)
Saudi Business Centre (SBC)
Shabaka Training
SRACO
TQ Education and Training

(Feel free to add to this list.)

Professional Language Solutions (Langsols)
They have a big contract (or had until very recently) with BAE in Dhahran.

They provide work for teachers in other projects in the Middle East and the UK.

I believe that is correct.

JATCO recently recruiting for Saudi Aramco and/or its affiliates through joint ventures such as the Maritime Academy

Otherwise, historically, Saudi Aramco has contracted staff via Al Hoty, Al Falak and SRACO. I've listed those in descending order of contractor company competence.

The money is very low for the American Academy teachers, but the direct hires are well paid; and yet the AA teachers are expected to do as much, if not more in some cases, as the direct hires.

The AA teachers tend to leave as soon as they can: it's a chaotic environment where very little real teaching is required. It's more about enforcing rules and doing endless administration.

(M0D edit)

Extended discussion and debate on one particular employer should be taken to the thread related to that employer - or start a new thread.

Since this thread is solely intended to indicate companies that still resource teachers/trainers and where, you'd have to do the research to determine if the combo of company and work situation is something you'd want to pursue (and can personally tolerate).

SBC is not Saudi Business Centre, it is Saudi British Centre. Don't let the name fool you, they will hire anyone that can speak English and quite a few who can't.

All companies providing staff to KSU are up for contract renewal this year.

I think (open to correction) that two of the companies at PNU are set to have contracts reviewed this year.

Thanks for the clarification, I-forgot.

From what I can ascertain:

- QEHC staffs teachers at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC); Hafr AL Bain University in Hafr Al-Batin; and Al-Baha University in Al-Baha. I suspect they have other contracts throughout KSA.

- Shabaka Training has a contract with King Faisal University in Hofuf.

- ML Solutions provides training for the Saudi Air Force in Dhahran.

- Education Experts (EdEx) has a contract with Al Jouf University in Al-Jawf.

If you're new to the ME, do your homework on

Quality Education Holding Company
Education Experts (EdEx)
Saudi British Centre

before you even dream of going to Saudi Arabia.

Job seekers should always research companies before accepting an offer.

- ICEAT has a contract with King Saud University and IPA Riyadh & Jeddah

- International Institute of Languages (IIL) staffs teachers at the National Industrial Training Institute (NITI)

- Based on a recent Cafe job ad, I'm guessing Al Khaleej hires teachers to work in foundation programs at King Khalid University, University of Ha'il, and University of Bisha.

Unless the Canadian-American manager has changed his stripes over the past few years, I would NOT recommend Al-Shabaka. He has treated people very rudely in the past who were not very much like himself. It is not worth the aggravation.

- Per zygnias, Al Hussan, along with ICEAT, has a contract with KSU
- Quality Education Company (AKA QEHC) is employing female teachers to work at PNU

(Note: For comments -- good or bad -- about working for any of the above companies, please post over on Pros & cons of working for X contracting company.)
