Hi,

I have an online language partner who has (at my request) found me someone to help me with pronunciation and stress patterns. We will be studying together online for about an hour each session, and I am curious to know how much I should offer her? She is in Mexico City, I am in the states.

She doesn't really have to do much lesson planning, just correct me as I read various texts and we have discussions. I speak fairly okay, and know the rules for esdrujula, grave, and aguda, just trying to establish them in my speaking. My online language exchange is fairly busy these days and I wanted someone who didn't want to learn English.

Thanks!

$10 to $20 dollars an hour. This is based on what online English teachers are making. If she has some sort of specific qualification for the job towards the upper end, if not more towards the lower end.

This may seem obviously or something you are already doing, but I also suggest you seek out some Mexican immigrants in your city (there's really no part of the US without them anymore) to have live practice with. They of course will not be trained teachers, but will give you a chance to apply what you've learned with others. You will also likely make some good friends and contacts for if you are planning to come to Mexico in the future.
