Yet another teacher at my school bites the dust. There's 8 Foreign teachers at my school, only one has been around for over a year.
I didn't get in well with upper management (adult learning centre). I did have low KPIs as I took a lot of sick leave. Student feedback was mostly positive but could have been better.
Anyways, I was asked "to just leave quietly" and they offered to not cancel my Z visa for an additional 2 months. They also offered a recommendation letter in addition to the required release letter. I accepted and signed one week ago.
I'm pretty sure this 2 month deal is illegal and I'm wondering what I should do?
I want to stay in China and I'm looking for another job. |

When you're safely away please name and shame this school and it's location. |

Turn yourself into the PSB immediately or go find another job.
Or LEAVE.
It sounds to me that despite your low Key Performance Indicators, the school is being pretty good about giving you a letter of recommendation.
Your Z visa expired as soon as you entered China. That's what got you INTO China. Your residence permit allows you to stay. You should get that straightened out. Are they not going to cancel your residence permit? |

Thanks for the fast replies.
Right. Well, I spoke with them just now and they said they haven't cancelled my FEC or residency permit.
I've found a better paying position at another school and so far my old employer is being cooperative. |
