My new school just told me that I need to get a local criminal check.

Does anyone know how I get this report? I heard to go to the local police check and then they will send me to the Records Office, whatever and where ever that is... any help would be appreciated.

Which city are you in?

I was able to get a criminal record for Beijing fairly easily.

You need your registration form and all the entry/exit stamps in your passport.

I've been trying to get record checks for all the previous cities that I've lived in for my US immigration.

Each city has different rules. None of the previous cities that I have lived in would issue me a check. It is beyond frustrating lol

There are a few companies that can do it China. They can't do it for all cities.

You would need to go to the local police station where you registered and ask them to do, then you would have to get it notarized.

Your current school should be able to tell you where to go to get this document.

I did mine recently and it was a very easy process.

The office should be the same place where your current school registered you when you arrived when they changed your Z Visa into a Work/Residence permit.

Also, there was no charge for this document when I got it. Bring your passport to the office and it should be straight forward.
