I am currently on Paxil CR. Went to the local hospital and doctor told me it was not available in Thailand. She gave me a generic name of one drug that was. I have heard there are many fakes on the market and only want to deal with the real deal so sticking to getting it from a hospital. I have a year supply from back home so that is not the issue, I would like to try another type and am open to a domestic brand if anyone can recommend one.... |

You are taking paroxetine hydrochloride. Check local offerings for that compound. |

There are different types of antidepressants and your body responds very differently to each of them. For example, Zoloft causes weight gain and low energy, while Wellbutrin makes you lose weight and increases your energy levels. On the other hand, Zoloft makes you feel relaxed while Wellbutrin has you bouncing on the walls with anxiety. I wouldn't switch from Paxil to a different type unless you know for sure what you're getting into and even then you have to wean yourself off Paxil and into the other type.
Henry is right about the generic drug name, though. Wellbutrin, for example, is actually the drug bupropion and is sold in Thailand under the name Quomet. I would look up more information on paroxetine hydrochloride online and then take it from there. |
