I am transferring to a new school in a new city, Shenzen. I submitted all docs and 30 days prior to expiry, my docs will be submitted. My present HR says that takes 15 biz days. Then I must go and register at the police station and leave my passport there for an additional 15 biz days.
Thus, I am stuck here until July 21st without a passport...
All they can do stamp the passport so why must they keep it?
Must I leave it with the police for 15 days - biz? |

There is a 5 working day option. That's the one I opted for when transferring my residency permit which the school paid for. |
