Why do potential employers ask for this?
Also a bit of a silly question, when they say that they require a copy (1st page) does that mean the page with the photograph on? I've got the old style UK passport (doesn't expire til 2020) and so the photograph page towards the back of the passport. |

| Before you send it out, make sure that the school is legit and that they (and you) are serious about the job. There are con artists posing as recruiters to collect people's info to steal their identities. |

Aside from identification, the photo page of the passport indicates age and confirms nationality. |

And confirms that you do in fact have a passport, it has sufficient validity time remaining and so you are able to travel.
