I don't believe it. The US has its own issues too. |

Have you dug the moat around your new place yet? I'm considering a combination of guard dogs and killer bees for my homestead. |

Yeah these come out all the time. You are better off reading your local and regional news for things that actually will have an effect on you.
Guy, you might find a pack of 10 dogs to be effective. That even works for Jehovah's Witnesses!!!! |

It amazes me how these wonderful countries full of friendly people are hurt economically and socially year after year by these "warnings."
I have been living in Colombia for about 18 months now. Had I listened to the government or the naysayers in my life, I never would have discovered my beautiful new home. No robberies, no fights... nothing. I've even been careless from time to time and stumbled home drunk at 2 AM. Nothing.
People take 1 bad experience and paint an entire country with that brush. Oh well, the daring will win the day as always. I'm glad people are too afraid to come here. It's good for my Spanish. |

Y'all may say, and me included, that it is safe enough here.
However, if you read the local papers or http://www.noventagrados.com.mx/seguridad.html things are hot as hell and the underbelly is bubbling as usual. |
