Quote:
Annual leave of 30 working days plus all National and religious holidays after completion of one year contract
Labor Law states you have to provide min 30 days holiday every 12 months. i.e. during the contracted period, not at the end of it

might be best if you quote the actual labour law paragraph/s. What you've written might equate to the same thing i.e. every 12 months, you get 30 days' holiday. Where does it say it has to be during the contracted period?

Filipino staff contracted to Saudi Aramco get one period of leave at the end of 12 months' continuous service. If you're right, that would be in contravention of labour law. I highly doubt they are (although nothing would surprise me here).

Teachers on a 12-month contract are entitled to 30 days leave. This can be taken during or at the end of the contract. Teachers who opt for 30 days at the end should get a month's salary plus + bonus (if they get one). You just have to apply for unpaid leave during your first year. In many cases, teflers take unpaid days, survive a year and get booted with nothing. Employers take advantage of this by recruiting young teachers with zero experience of the ME.

Filipino TCNs here at aramco are a different story. Most have come through agents in Manilla. As a rule, it's 30 days after 2 years if they're lucky. SRACO, who supply 100s of workers to aramco, operate along these lines. It was set up when all the gardening staff were all Filipino. Remember those days? I do. Not an Indian in sight. That was back in the 80s.

nope. It's 30 days after 1 year and it's guaranteed.

In nearly 5 years I've never met a Filipino colleague who has been denied it or had it less frequently than this.
