Hello,

I am looking to teach abroad and I need to make some decent money to be able to pay off some student loan debts. Does anyone know what if any antidepressant medications are available in UAE, or any other Middle East countries in the area? If they are not available there, is there a place I could fly to where I could get 3 months supply or something?

I've searched online but can't seem to find definitive answers for specific meds for specific foreign countries.

I know people often respond to posts like this with "You shouldn't come to the Middle East if you have anxiety/depression problems", but I am under control for a number of years now, and have taught abroad before.

Thanks!

Since you posted on the UAE forum, the country's Ministry of Health lists unauthorized medicines. You can check if any of your meds are included.

Better yet, the UK, US, and Canadian embassy websites in your target Mid East countries often provide a list of English-speaking doctors/clinics to contact. They should be able to tell you about the current availability of your specific meds or their generic equivalents as well as dosage, quantity limits, and prescription requirements. (Drug formularies can change.)
