Don't know how to do a poll on this but might be interesting to see the results. By that I mean 5k a month after tax, 12 months of the year.

My Polish relatives were in the UAE last week and noticed that clothes, electrical goods, street food and seafood (to list a few things but I could add petrol etc) are cheaper here than back home. Can't say the same about rent, mine's 6.7k/month plus bills.

Yes: Outside Warsaw. More than 5k a month net. 12 months a year. Proper employment contract.

I must state, though, that EFL/ESL (call it what you will) teaching is no longer my main occupation.

Are you in materials writing? If so, I'd like to get into this again. I write materials for the oil company I work for.

Yes, comfortably. More as a translator than as a teacher, but if I only taught I would still clear that without too much trouble.
