I'm a certified K-12 teacher looking for a reputable recruiter for international schools.
Who would you recommend? Who would you avoid? Feel free to explain why/why not. Thanks |

'Recruiter' meaning someone who will 'place' teachers in desirable jobs? So far as I am aware, these don't exist. The international school job market is highly competitive - there are lots of qualified teachers trying to get hired. I believe you can expect to conduct job searches and to negotiate with schools directly; I don't think there are tons of middlemen out there to ease the process.
This answer varies somewhat by region, obviously. |

Teach Away
Footprints Recruitment
Both well respected and they recruit for quite a lot of international schools. |

As mentioned, it generally depends on your target region. In addition to websites mentioned here, check out International Schools Review. |

I've heard good things about Search Associates, but, it's not free. However, if you are able to land a good job through them then, obviously, it's worth it. The website Tieonline is another service that isn't free, but, IMHO, well worth the forty bucks. The website Seek Teachers is free and a lot of jobs are advertised on there and is definitely worth a look, or at least I think so. |

My organization uses Teachaway, Teachanywhere, Randstad, Edevectus, Search Associates, TIC and a couple more. As an accredited school, we also work with CIS and have access to their database. If you are licensed / certified K-12, there are several reputable options.
Teachaway and Teachanywhere work more with bilingual schools with host nation students while Search and TIC focus pretty much with traditional international schools with expat students to the best of my knowledge.
I've hired candidates from all of the above recruiters and my experience was positive and the teachers I know have never had any complaints. |
