Hi. I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who doesn't have an account here. He'd like to know if his MA in linguistics and literature (equal number of linguistics and literature modules taken) would satisfy the minimum academic requirements for teaching in the Gulf and Saudi Arabia. Note that is not an MA in TESOL. However, he does have a CELTA and many years experience teaching academic English at the tertiary level. His BA is in sociology.

He should be fine. Main issues that could crop up are if he studied online, and if the degree is from an unknown institute outside the top 500. |

The top 500? A degree from a valid, accredited western university that was completed entirely on campus fits the bill.
He'll have to look at actual job ads for specific requirements since no other info about him was given. |
