Hi everyone!

So I am sat here in the UK with a job offer from both Gaba and James English School.
Since my passport is Norwegian I am unfortunately unable to apply for the majority of other schools that recruit from abroad as I don't satisfy the bizzare "12 years education with English as main medium" rule.

Now I have already poured through this forum and researched both companies to death so I am well aware of how they operate.

Do any of you here have any recent experience with either of the two companies?

I am having a really hard time making a decision. The two companies have such different pros and cons. I think I am leaning more towards James, solely because of the contract and the subsidized housing though..

In your opinion, which one would you go for?
Gaba has placed me in the Tokyo North area, which I have indicated I want to go to Chiba or Saitama as I have no interest in living in a big city like Tokyo.

James will place me in Akita, which really appeals to me for the area and living expenses.

I worked for James a long time ago.Unless they've drastically changed policy and working conditions I would go with them.
Akita is your typical country style city here.Located on the Sea of Japan so you'll get lots of snow in winter and hot, humid summers.
The people are friendly and the local food is good.
That area is called Shonai, hence my user name.I lived in that area but not Akita.
I have not heard good things about Gaba.
Anyway.......my 2 cents.

I recommend Akita.. if you want to party, go to live gigs, and eat in fancy restaurants then go to the Tokyo area.

Most people I know who have worked for Gaba didn't like it.
