My RP and work permit run until early September, so I figured I'd do some summer camp work before the Grand Departure.

Anyone got the skinny on summer camps at/in your school/town/city/province?

I'm available July 1st - August 31st.

Reply here or PM.

Thanks in advance!

Wink

I had heard that it was illegal to have a work permit for one place but use it to work in another. Was there any mention of this or is the risk all yours?

The risk is all yours. It is illegal (although even many Chinese people don't know this and will tell you otherwise). Technically, your employer who sponsored your visa could give official permission for you to work a 2nd/summer/part-time job at another location, but I'm not sure i've ever heard of an employer going through the paperwork with the govt to make this legal. Most employers could care less if you work on the side as long as it's not in competition with them. Many employers have friends who have schools and it's not uncommon for the boss to come to you and offer you work on their behalf.

Even a few years ago it was so common to work a 2nd job "illegally" that everyone kind of laughed about it. No one cared. But today I would be a little more wary. Probably it is no big deal, but the govt is more and more concerned with "corruption" these days. Getting caught could lead to a minor fine and deportation.

I will be cautious, Simon. Don't fancy a deportation.
