i have just completed my bilogy degree in england, and im now looking to relocate to the netherlands, and aim to teach english, preferably to teenagers in school, and if not then adults.

im looking for advice on what kind of course to do. after doing some research on tefl, ive found that i can either do it at a college, an intensive weekend or via the internet. which would you recommend.

also ive found different length courses, from 20-120 hours. they dont appear to have a better certificate if i do a longer one, and will my employer know how good my course was.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you, lorna

Why teach English? Try applying to international schools to teach biology, math, science, whatever. A science degree is more useful to you than any English certificate.

I have a B.S. in environmental science and I am finishing up a M.S. in Geography (physical geography - not cartography as most people think) and I am looking into teaching abroad opportunities. So far the JET program, teaching English, is on the top of my list. I would love to teach science, but I know of no programs similar to JET that focus on science education. I've looked into some international schools, but they almost all require teaching experience (of which I have none). I am also looking for a program that can employ me and a significant other. Anyone have any suggestions or advice?
