				Hello everyone:)

I'm considering teaching English in Columbia, and I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me to where I can get information on language schools (which I can apply to from abroad)

I've already sent in an application for the public school program, and I thought I'd check out other schools at the same time.

I'm a non-native speaker, with a non-related degree from an English speaking country, and CELTA.

Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you |

				There's a list here. http://www.eslbase.com/schools/colombia

I have a more up-to-date list somewhere, but I don't see it at the moment, and can't remember the source. I'll post it if I locate it. Tip: Get the spelling of the country right before you write a cover letter!

ETA: The odds are against finding a job with a language school from abroad with minimal qualifications. You'll probably have to show up in person to have a shot.

Thank you for your feedback AGoodStory

I checked out that website a couple of days ago- some of the links were broken, but I'm glad you recommended it as well, as I wasn't too sure if that would be a good starting point.

Yes, please do send the updated list if you can find it

Hahaha, will pay extra attention to the spelling |

Will do. Yeah, the closed schools don't get pruned out. Usually the broken links indicate a defunct school, but sometimes the link has just been changed, and with a bit of searching you can still find the current site. In any event, you'll have better luck applying in person.

Noted- will do a Google search on the schools with broken links

Yes, I agree- it would be easier to apply in person, but the airplane ticket is quite costly, although I suppose it'll work out if I do get a job.

Will try my luck applying online for a 1-2 months before I buy that ticket! |

Don't come to Colombia without a cushion of $8,000 or so. You commit to the country by moving there, and then you find a job. Not the other way around. |
