Hi,

I have an upcoming interview for a teaching job in Saudi. I am qualified teacher from Canada, and am interested to learn more about the job via the interview next week. I have a lot of experience and qualifications and the pay is pretty decent between 48-54K USD.

I don't know much about the schools, but it is with Saudi Schools which is part of Misk schools. Is there anyone here that works for these schools and can tell me about their experience both at the schools and what their accommodations are like?

I have been reading a lot of negative things especially the recent warning to Americans not to travel to Saudi because of the war with Yemen. I would be interested in saving some cash which is the main reason of me wanting to go to Saudi. I am hesitant as I worked in Kuwait before and the school didn't follow through with their end of the contract.

Thanks for any advice either on here or through pm.

Personally I've never heard of them. Most all of the teachers here work with adults... university, military, or oil workers.

Glassdoor has a review that is very negative.

Sounds rather like how much BS can you tolerate to save some money. Believe little that they tell you. It will be like Kuwait... only likely worse... and also much less freedom than in Kuwait for women teachers.

I advise against this. Some jobs in KSA for women are OK Not this one. Go for a job at one of the universities that recruit female teachers.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I am going to take the interview anyway and see what comes of it as I already have it booked. I'll let you know how it goes. I believe both of you in your advising against this job. I am also very hesitant, but wanted to see if there were others here that have heard about these schools.

Never hurts to do the interview.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

If you have Canadian teaching certification, you should be able to get a job for at least that salary at a more reputable school. Saudis value official north-American teaching credentials and will pay a premium for them.
