|
|
I have an interview with AEON coming up and they want me to write a thirty-minute lesson plan and present five minutes of it.
I have absolutely no TEFL experience and I am clueless on where to even begin. What sort of format does a lesson plan have to be written in?
I suppose that I could just look up a Lesson Plan on the internet somewhere, but isn't that plaigarism? I REALLY want the job but I fear that I will fail due to my lack of any teaching experience.
Please, does anybody out there have some suggestions???

It's not what you present, so much as it's how well you present it. Recruiters at AEON have seen every possible lesson you can think of or plagiarize. |

That is why the RSA CELTA is good, it teaches you lesson planning and gives you in class experience. I recommend taking this if you have time.
Otherwise You could pick up Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language by Marianne Celce-Murcia and read the unit on lesson planning or some other books related to lesson planning.
Another option would be to go to an ESL school near your home and inquire to see if they would let you observe a class. |

Whatever you decide to do remember to relax.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself or you
will choke.
Go into the interview with an air of confidence.
You have nothing to lose if you don't get this job.
There are a countless number of eikaiwas that you can
apply to.
Don't put all of your eggs into one basket.
Best of luck! |
