|
|
Hello,
We have booked to do our TEFLs with Via Lingua in Istanbul (at Kent English) for August 1-26th.
Will need cheap accommodation- the school is in Kadikoy, and we would prefer somewhere that is walkable- within about a 20-30 minute walk is ideal.
The second option would be something in another area close to the ferry (or seabus? I don't know what it is there) as the school is very close to the ferry terminal in Kadikoy so if we were to live a short ferry away that would be okay.
I HATE busses. I get so bus sick! I also get sea sick but hear that the bosphorus is calm at that time of year so it would be better than the bus!
Does anybody have any suggestions?
I would just come to Istanbul to look around but that is peak tourist season so I am concerned about things being full.
Thanks so much for any info! Feel free to PM if you'd rather. |

Hi, izzyismydog.
As an old Kadiky resident (over 13 years ) I can tell you rent in Kadiky will depend on what you want. Small places near Yerdemir (15 mnt walk to Kent Eng start at around 350 to 450 Y.T.L a month, nicer places will set you back alot more. You can't rent for less then a year. If you plan to stay only for a short time try one of the cheap hotels that will give you a deal on an extended stay (Deniz Hotel) If you inclued the house security deposit and other charges it can work out to be a cheap option. Good luck. |

Kent usually provides the accomodation. Maybe this is the easiest way. They are a good bunch. |

Kent English does provide accommodation if we need it, but it's going to be expensive if we have to use it. There are two of us, and from what research I've done we could find something for half the price- so now we are hoping to find something close. Their private accommodation is 600Euros for two of us, or it's 500 for us to have a shared room with other students. If we could share a shared room and pay the 250Euros it would be okay but 500Euros is way past our budget!
calsimsek, I can't find any information about the Deniz Hotel online, is there a way to contact them to try to find out info and book? We are only looking for a 1 month stay somewhere right now, as we aren't sure where we will get jobs.
thanks. |
